| In
addition to commemorative giving programs,
the Hospital Foundation holds fundraisers
throughout the year to raise funds. Popular
past events include the "Gala Ball and
Gourmet Dinner", "Kern Valley A La Carte",
"Dining Faire Extraordinaire", and the
"Peddlers Faire". Raffles for new cars, a
Harley Davidson Motorcycle and a personal
water craft have also proven to be effective
fundraisers.
One of the most popular and
successful events has been the "Heart Walk",
held the last week in February. This is an
ongoing event that contributes annually to
our equipment fund.
The Foundation
recently completed a successful fundraiser
using grants to help purchase the Mobile
Mammography unit now in use at the hospital.
We are presently
working on a project to modernize and
upgrade the acute care rooms in the Kern
Valley Hospital. As this program develops we
will update the information on this page.
Since its inception
in 1986, the Kern Valley Hospital Foundation
has raised over $550,000 to purchase
equipment for our hospital.
