As a non-profit healthcare facility, we serve as a resource to all of the Kern River
Valley. Kern Valley Healthcare District is located one hour west of Ridgecrest and one hour east of Bakersfield. We offer competitive
starting salaries based on years of experience with a 10% differential between 7pm and 7am and merit increase based on a
pay-for-performance system. Health, dental, life, vision and pharmacy is offered to employees for a nominal fee with 2 to 4 weeks
of vacation (depending on length of service), sick time, 8 paid holidays, tax deferred plan as well as a retirement plan. Extensive
in-house continuing education is available through State Board approved CEU programs.
Our hospital consists of a
24-bed acute care with a 3-bed ICU unit. Adjacent is the new 74 bed
Skilled Nursing Facility.

Qualifications: Must have
current California Physical Therapist license and BLS
certification. Minimum .(3) years experience in aspects of
rehabilitative medicine. Minimum two (2) years experience managing
Rehab Services or related department. Coordinates and administers
physical agents by a referring physician. Supervises personnel and
assures their competencies. Maintains efficient and effective
department operation while requiring compliance with all state,
federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.
Must have knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy
modalities, anatomy, physiology, infection control and the
benefits/values of rehabilitative medicine. Assesses patient needs
and performs physical therapy using various rehabilitation
modalities. Communicates appropriately and interacts professionally
with patients, residents, and family involving them in the formation
of the care plans.Maintains performance improvement activities
within the department and participates in quality improvement
activities. Assists in formulating budget, evaluates department
performance versus budget and takes appropriate action to remain in
budget guidelines. Develops and implements system of reviewing
department charges, ensuring patient charges are accurate and
entered on a timely basis. Must be able to effectively communicate

to neonate through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the
psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the
surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and
anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient
condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and
inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities.
Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness,
obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate
needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and
assists patient during procedure. Must be able to read, write and
understand English. Must interface effectively and tactfully with,
residents, staff and the general public. Basic computer skills
required.
