Press Release

For Immediate Release

Lake Isabella, California December 17, 2020Due to the upcoming holidays, Kern Valley Hospital’s drive-thru community COVID testing site is scheduled as follows:

Wednesday, December 23, 7:00 am to 2:00 pm

Wednesday, December 30, 7:00 am to 2:00 pm

Due to the increased number of community members choosing to test, we have initiated a change in how we will notify you. Anyone testing through the community site can go to Quest Diagnostics at https://myquest.quiestdiagnotics and sign up to MyQuest. This service is free and a secure tool that makes it easy to get your test results. Results are also available on our portal. Going forward our staff will only notify those who have tested positive.

No appointment is necessary to test at our community site, which is located at 4308 Birch St., Mountain Mesa. We will have signage out by the street. You will stay in your car and wait for staff to direct you to pull forward. We ask that you PUT YOUR CAR IN PARK once you are in position for testing.

The community test site is a free service provided to our community through the hospital, in concert with Kern County Public Health.  We want to remind you, if you were exposed or think you have been exposed to COVID, but have no symptoms do not go to the ER at the hospital – you will need to go through the community test site.  If you have symptoms, and have been exposed to COVID, you need to contact your healthcare provider and follow the guidelines they provide.

We anticipate we will continue providing our community test site through at least through March, one day a week. That may change based on the number of positive cases our community experiences.  We will provide additional information in January.

We remind everyone to continue wearing a facemask, washing your hands often, avoid touching your face, and please practice social distancing.
