Physical Therapy Assistant

Responsible for administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the Physical Therapist (PT).   Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the PT Manager, after patient evaluation.  Participates in operational aspects of the department, performance improvement activities, infection control, departmental equipment training and District safety programs.

• Must have current California Physical Therapist Assistant and BLS certifications.
• AA Degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APA) or successfully challenged APA examination and meets all other criteria as set forth by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and interface professionally, tactfully and respectfully with patients, residents, staff, the general public and governmental agency reps.
• Basic computer skills required.
